Masks for Setsubun
“Demons Out! Good Luck In!”
Setsubun is a traditional event in Japan usually takes place on February 3rd to celebrate the beginning of spring. Setsubun is also known as “Bean-Throwing Festival”, and people scatter soybeans while saying “Demons out! Good luck in!”. People throw soybeans outside the house or at oni (demons) to drive away the bad spirits and inside the house to invite the happiness to the family.
With this setsubun kit, you can enjoy playing setsubun with your family.
After printing out the masks, you can stick them on the ribbons or put a hair tie through the masks for babies/children to wear. These masks don’t cover the face completely, so they’re perfect to take photos.
This kit includes three different kinds of demon and good-luck masks, so siblings can play setsubun together. Besides masks, there’re setsubun theme illustrations, such as demon’s clubs and soybeans, that you can hang them on the wall to enjoy the setsubun decorations.
