Decorations for
Joyous Occasions
A new born baby. Just the sound of it makes you feel happy. In addition to the baby, let’s take advantage of the joyous event, the New Year holidays, and have a photo shoot in the ceremonial red and white colors. You will have a memorable photo as it is the first New Year for the baby.
What you need is red paper flowers and Luntan’s free garland. We’ve put together the brilliant vermilion color garland with illustrations of dogs which is the sign of the year 2018 in Chinese Zodiac. Luntan’s garlands are free to download, so please use them not only for the photo shoot but also for New Year decorations at the entrance hall and in the living room.
Have you already bought “shimekazari” (a decoration of straw rope which is generally placed at the top of the entrance during the New Year holidays as a charm against evil spirits)? If not, let’s go get it at the 100-yen shop (its name starts with D). Take all the decorations out of the straw rope and attach red paper flowers and fans made with origami instead. Look, it looks very charming!
At last, let’s swaddle the baby. It’s hard to find the white baby wrapper, so you can use a bath towel instead. If swaddling is difficult, we recommend dressing baby in white for the refreshing image.
By the way, the matching placemat to the garland is also available for free download. Simply print it out on A4 paper, and you are all set for New Year table decorations. Imagine the table setting with a bottle of baby formula in the middle of ozoni (soup containing rice cakes and vegetables, a Japanese traditional dish for New Year) for other family members. Isn’t that lovely?
The baby model in this article is the baby of the mommy who has modeled for the article,”Diaper Cake in Japanese Style“. Two months after the photo shoot, the baby gave a healthy first cry! For mommy, daddy and his sister, this is the very first New Year as the family of four. The family is livelier than ever and celebrates the beginning of the New Year. Congratulations to the family and Happy New Year!
